Womens's Prem Coach

A warm welcome to William Madgwick our Premier Women's coach. He is an experience & enthusiastic coach who will certainly be an asset to Mt Eden Hockey Club

Here is some info about William

I have been playing and coaching hockey for over 20 years, I have spent the majority of that time with Howick Pakuranga Club, but played in Australia while at University and a season and a half at ECB in the North Harbour competition. I have played at Premier, Reserve, D1 and D2 levels of the men's competition, and have played National Masters tournaments. I have coached at a variety of levels and ages, from minis, youth, school to men's and women's teams. I have balanced this around my work as an educator, currently holding the role of Associate Principal at Rosehill College and as a parent, I have two children who play hockey for club and school. Recently I have coached Rosehill College girls 1st XI to 7th in the Tier 3 school tournament (2015) and last year a women's 35's team at World Masters followed by the Auckland Women's Masters team at Nationals where we placed 2nd. I enjoy the game of hockey and being a coach where I learn with teams to achieve shared goals in an environment of striving to improve with all opportunities.

In 2017 we started an annual event with Waitakere Hockey club where our club had several games against their teams.

The event was a great chance to meet other people from our club and have a team game before the start of the season.

Thank you to all those we helped make the event a great success & the Waitakere Hockey Club for their hospitality.
